Information We Collect
- Account details: username, name, surname, email, address and postcode, plus encrypted password hash.
- Vehicle details: registration, make, model and colour for saved vehicles and booking history.
- Booking details: selected service, visit option (unit/mobile/collection/delivery), service date/time, price breakdown, and booking status.
- Quote activity: quote details and the first time a secure quote link is viewed, so we can follow up accurately.
- Email marketing preference: whether you chose to receive AutoGlint offers and updates, when that choice was recorded, its source, and whether you later unsubscribed.
- Distance-pricing fields: service postcode used for pricing, calculated driving distance (miles), and visit surcharge.
- Payment details: billing postcode and payment metadata required to process payments. Full card data is handled by Stripe.
- Technical and security data: IP address, device/browser information, session and anti-fraud/security logs.

- To send occasional AutoGlint offers and car-care updates only where you have actively chosen to receive them.
- To improve our website, services, and customer support.
- To comply with legal obligations, including fraud prevention and security monitoring.
Lawful Bases (UK GDPR)
- Contract: to provide booked services, account access, invoicing and support.
- Legitimate interests: service operations, fraud prevention, abuse prevention and platform security.
- Legal obligation: financial record-keeping, tax/compliance and lawful requests from authorities.
- Consent: where required (for example optional notifications or non-essential processing).
- Marketing consent: promotional emails are based on your optional choice and you can withdraw that consent at any time.
Promotional Emails
- Marketing emails are separate from essential quote, booking, payment and account messages.
- The marketing checkbox is optional and is not selected by default.
- Each promotional email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also ask us to stop by emailing info@autoglint.co.uk.
- After you unsubscribe, we keep a limited suppression record so your address is not accidentally added to future campaigns without a new opt-in.
Who We Share Information With
- Stripe: payment processing and related transaction metadata.
- Google Maps Platform: Geocoding and Distance Matrix requests used to validate address/postcode and calculate distance-based surcharges.
- DVLA vehicle data service: registration lookup where applicable.
- Hosting, email and notification providers: infrastructure and operational communication.
- Legal/compliance recipients: where disclosure is required by law.
Security Practices
- Encrypted transport (TLS/HTTPS) for all pages where information is submitted.
- Payment data handled through PCI DSS compliant processors; sensitive card data is not stored on our servers.
- Role-based access controls for staff accounts and administrative systems.
- Regular updates and monitoring to protect against unauthorised access or misuse.

Data Retention
- We retain account and booking records while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards.
- Invoice and transaction records are retained as required for accounting, tax and legal compliance.
- Marketing consent records and unsubscribe suppression records are retained as needed to demonstrate and respect your email preference.
- Where data is no longer required, it is deleted or anonymised where feasible.
Cookies and Tracking
- We use essential cookies/session storage for sign-in, security and core site functions.

Your Rights

AutoGlint App Account Deletion
- You can request deletion from the AutoGlint app under Account > Security > Delete account.
- You can also submit a request without the app at autoglint.co.uk/delete-account.
- After ownership is verified, we delete or anonymise account credentials, customer profile data, saved vehicles, active app sessions, notification subscriptions and data that is no longer required.
- Invoices, payment records and completed transaction records may be retained where required for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, dispute handling or other legal obligations.
- Information retained for a legitimate obligation is restricted to that purpose and kept only for as long as the obligation applies.
Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect service changes, including booking workflows, distance-based pricing logic, and legal requirements. Material updates will be highlighted on this page with a revised date.
